"Something wasn't working," claims coach Jared Bednar. "The offense past the top line wasn't clicking in the way we had hoped and so, in preparation for a very important game tomorrow, we had to make some changes. Namely, we've moved Tomas Tatar to the first line, Trevor Zegras will now be centering the second line, and Anthony Cirelli will be moved to the wing on the third. We hope Tavares and Kreider can provide a much needed boost to Tatar's game, and we know can perform to that level. Cirelli and Laine weren't clicking together offensively as much as we'd hoped. Zegras is more of an offensive threat, so we'll be pairing him with Laine and Verhaeghe in hopes to help all 3 perform to their fullest potential. Lastly, Cirelli has been dropped to the 3rd line and we hope that his defensive prowess and scoring touch can help ignite that line. The goal here was really to redistribute the offense more evenly among the top 3 lines while pairing players together who we think will enable one another to play to the best of their abilities." Here are the new lines going into tomorrow's game against Pittsburgh, which will be a very important game for the team:
