Shutout King

Hellebuyck breaks single season shutout record with 12th so far this year!
3/17/2025 • Vince Brzostowski

The legend of Connor Hellebuyck continues to grow in the DCHL, as the Calgary Flames goaltender has once again solidified his place as the league’s premier netminder. With two consecutive shutouts and a streak of 129 minutes without allowing a goal, Hellebuyck is proving why he is not just the backbone of the Flames, but the frontrunner for this year’s Vezina Trophy.

Hellebuyck’s latest shutout marks his 12th of the season—a new DCHL single-season record. In doing so, he extends his career total to an incredible 45 shutouts, far and away the most in league history. His dominance between the pipes has propelled the Flames into contention, and his consistency has made him the undisputed MVP of the team this season.

Beyond just shutouts, Hellebuyck leads all DCHL goaltenders in Goals Against Average (GAA) and Save Percentage among those who have played at least 40 games. He is also the league’s current leader in Wins, further cementing his case as the best goaltender in the game today.

For now, the DCHL’s all-time shutout leader remains in a league of his own, rewriting the record books one save at a time.
