New GM has Ducks all lined up!

New GM has Ducks all lined up!

After walking away from the game for a year, newly hired Ducks GM has his team where he wants it to be….for the time being. The Ducks were very active in the trades department and free agent signings. The Ducks GM did not mess around once they took over and got to work immediately. “Yeah, I was pretty excited just to return to the hockey world. I was disappointed to leave NY. In the last couple of years we had drafted really well and the team beginning to get deeper in prospects. But life happens and here I am today, at the helm of the all mighty  Ducks”.

When asked about the Ducks team coming in, GM Prégent had this to say: “Discouraged I would say. This team only had Forsberg and Holtz to build around. Our prospect pool is not that deep at all. When evaluating the team we could of gone with what we had and hope for the best in the Bedard sweepstake. But knowing that the odds could be against me due to many teams having the same idea, we decided to make some moves instead. When we were able to land Sergachev and Thomas, I knew right away that we could build a playoff contender. At this point its all about bringing in players that can eventually bring you a good returns”. Here is snapshot of incoming and outgoing players:

       OUT:                                                        IN:

Alexander Holtz                                 Mark Scheiflele

Kent Johnson                                      Robert Thomas

Yanni Gourd                                        Victor Hedman

Tyson Barry                                          Blake Wheeler

Nick Ritchie                                       Evgenii Dadonov

William Carrier                                    Cam Atkinson

Evan Rodriguez                                   Trevor Moore

Dylan Gambrell                                  Mathieu Joseph

Stuart Skinner                                       Ondrej Kase

Denis Gurianov                                     Curtis Lazar

Jordan Martinook                              Andrew Cogliano

Mason Millman                                     Derek Stepan

                                                              Urho Vaakanainen

                                                                Pavel Francouz

                                                                Erik Gudbranson

                                                     Domenick Fensore

As you can see, the Anaheim Ducks have done tremendous work but it came at a price of losing Holtz and Johnson. GM Prégent: “I didn’t have much to work with so everything came w a price. I wanted to make us competitive now and slowly build up our prospect pool. We have and had nothing. We’re starting from scratch just like in NY and I am pretty excited about that”. Time will only tell, but Anaheim seem to have their Ducks lined up in a row.
