The Start To A New Beginning

It has been a wild past month for the Kraken as GM Brideau was busy in Free Agency this year. Going into Free Agency the kraken were considered a bottom 3 team and now with the signings of Steven Stamkos, Reilly Smith, Yanni Gourde, Jake Allen and the list goes on the Kraken have made a push forward in there rebuild and have potenially made them a middle of the pack team. At First Brideau wasn't to sure what he was going to do in Free agency but after talking with some players on Day 1 of Free Agency it was clear players were interested in playing for the Kraken and Brideau had the Cap and DCHL cash to make it happen.

With several Gm's saying the Kraken Over spent on deals this year, Brideau wanted to make sure he had a core group of guys for the coming season and with still 5.8 million left in cap space Brideau isn't worried at all since next season the salary cap is going up to 87.6m in 2025 and 9m coming of the books from Brad Marchands retention Brideau has lots of room still to play with in the next few years so settle down folks.

A few weeks after the DCHL Draft one of the Kraken's 1st round picks Berkly Catton Approached Brideau and made it clear he wasn't interested in playing his NHL career with the Kraken and would like to be traded, so Brideau granted Catton's wish and traded him to the Flyers For Trevor Zegars. Zegars didn't stay long in Seattle has Brideau then shipped Zegars, EDM 2nd 2025, SEA 2nd 2025 and Brad Lambert to the Oilers for Marco Rossi and Cole Perfetti. getting Perfetti and Rossi was important for Brideau as he adds to young DCHLers to his roster and will be in his starting lineup opening day and adds to the young the Kraken have, People should keep on eye on the Kraken has there going to prove to the DCHL that they arent messing around and are ready to fight there way up the league.
