Seattle Kraken Prospect Report — Part 1

2026–2027 Season: Early-Season Update

The Rebuild Is Taking Shape

The Seattle Kraken are entering an important stage of their rebuild. For the first time, there is a clear direction for the franchise, and there is plenty of reason to be optimistic about what the future holds. As we begin the 2026–2027 season, several prospects throughout the organization have gotten off to strong starts, while others continue to develop their games at the junior, college, and professional levels.

This report is the first installment of a three-part series tracking the Kraken's prospect pool throughout the season. Part 1 takes an early look at how the organization's young talent is performing, Part 2 will revisit the group following the World Juniors, and Part 3 will provide a final evaluation at the end of the year. With a combination of recent draft picks, promising young players acquired through trades, and prospects climbing the development ladder, the Kraken have plenty of names worth monitoring.

The early stages of the 2026–2027 season have given Kraken fans plenty of reasons to follow the organization's prospect pool closely. From high-scoring forwards to developing defencemen and goaltenders putting together impressive starts, there are several encouraging storylines emerging across the system. The next step is seeing which players can sustain their production, which prospects take another developmental leap, and who establishes themselves as a legitimate long-term piece of the franchise. This is only the beginning of the evaluation. Following the World Juniors, we'll have a better understanding of how these prospects have progressed, who has separated themselves from the pack, and what the Kraken's future might look like as the rebuild continues.

Part 1 complete. The next checkpoint: the World Juniors.
