The stakes have never been higher for the Islanders this season. With game 3 just around the corner, the fan are eagerly anticipating what promisses to be a thrilling and intense matchup going into enemy territory tonight at 7pm Eastern Time.
Winning a playoff game on the road is not easy. It require a certain mindset, good strategies and better execition. The Devils did it so we can also do it. We have the energy and mental preparation.
The Islanders started game 1 and game 2 on a very bad note, at home. In front of their beloved fans. The pace of the Devils were too much and we got caught with bad penalties. No excuses. When your special teams doesn't perform. Your ship is going down.
GM Flax Laplante is smoking hot about the two first game and had a deep talk with Barry Trotz about an immediate change.
They both agreed to the strategies input by Flax, and they will give a chance to Varlamov, which is doing good on the road and also a beast under the pressure. He is a men of character, and we rotate him alot during the regular season.
Their plan for tonight is to focus on the game, and not the crowd. Playing on the road means have to deal with hostile crowd. The word of the day by the management is CLEAN.
We need to stay out of the box and capitalize on our scoring chances. 5 on 5 hockey with 4 lines runnings at full capacity tonight.
The group of veteran on the Isles squad will need to elevate their play like they did im the regular season
It's not going to be a walk in the park, but we beleive in our abilities and our system. It can be done!! Stay tuned
