Kraken at 2024 DCHL Entry Draft

6/24/2024 • Zach Brideau

With just over 2 weeks away from his first DCHL Entry draft GM Brideau has been busy on the phone. Going into off season Seattle had Picks 2,3,4,9 in the first round and now they are going into the draft with picks 8,9,10,13,28 and have added Owen Beck, Brad Lambert and Otto Stenberg.

What is Seattle looking for?

The kraken our hoping to find some hidden gems that can help with there rebuild and having 4 picks in the top 15 will definitely help them with that, with lots of skilled players there is lots to choose from.

Offseason plans.

The Kraken have been busy this offseason and have a full schedule ahead of them with the 2024 DCHL entry draft and the 2024 free agent class, The kraken don't plan on being to active in FA as they are still ways away from being a competitive teams but then do hope to add a few depth players in FA

Trade Block.

The Kraken have put Erik Karlsson on the trade block, Karlsson carries a 2year 14 million dollar contract but Seattle is willing to retain 50% of his remaining contract, Seattle is hoping to get a 1st round pick + for Karlsson with 2 years left on his contract the kraken feel that moving on from EK and giving him a chance to win a cup is the best move for the franchise and for EK.
