Jets shut out the Predators in preseason opener

Preseason Game One: Predators 0 vs Jets 1
9/25/2025 • Neil Burkholder

Nashville, TN (AP) -

The 2025-26 pre-season has officially started and day one the Predators hosted the Winnipeg Jets. It was a battle of attrition has the offense was at a premium last night as there was only one goal scored by Winnipeg from Matias Maccelli early in the second and that’s all it took to put the Predators down.

“It was a tough game, and I’d say we were pretty evenly matched, but it seemed like once Winnipeg scored in the second we just got into a shell and couldn’t get out of it. It’s on me, to fix it’”, said Predators coach Lane Lambert.

Which the game was pretty close, but in the third Winnipeg controlled the game and only let Nashville have five shots on net.

Next up the Preds will head west to take on the Utah Mammoth in game two of the preseason.
