Red Wings plans for post expansion...
7/20/2021 • Trevor D

For a proud city and an original six franchise, missing the playoffs was once an anomaly, but has become the expectation. For how long? There appears to be light piercing through the clouds.

There are plenty of reasons fans should be optimistic.  Esa Lindell will once again lead the team as the young Captain establishes his defencive presence on the back end.  Jake DeBrusk will attempt to improve from a slumping season with his new team.  Kirby Dach hasn't had the opportunity to have a full, normal healthy season yet but has shown flashes of the talent that made him the third overall pick and all signs point to him being able to put it all together next season.  Mario Ferraro has impressed the Red Wings coaching staff so far and will most likely share the blue line with his captain.  And the newest addition to the team and second overall pick Quinton Byfield will soon be joining the ranks which will bring a power forward presence that the team has been missing for some time.

While the Red Wings fans have shown patience with the rebuild in Motor City, we leave you with a future glimpse of the starting lineup; Byfield, Dach, DeBrusk, Lindell, Ferraro.
