Welcome to another edition of what's hot and what's not.
Today we'll be discussing a very important part of the dchl,  the not-so-rookie rookie scoring race and
the poor tampa bay offence.  We'll also revisit a team which saw the what's hot what's not spotlight 2 weeks ago.

What's Hot:  Dchl management.

After a very eventful offseason where we lost key members of the dchl, a lot of people were left questioning the future of the league.   Ian and the rest of the bog stepped up.  With all the sim issues and page issues, we were never left in the dark about anything. The updates given to us are always clear and detailed and after a quarter of the season done, i, and i think every gm should have full confidence in the bog to make this league a succesful one for many years to come.  Thanks for all the hard work

Now back to hockey stuff...

What's Not:  Tampa Bay's offence

The lightning has lost 4 in a row and 6 of their last 7.  Their only win comes against Seattle where they scored 7 against Joel Rumpel...  WHO?  Aside from that game,  they have scored a grand total of 8 goals in the 6 other games.  The team isnt that bad, they dont have a superstar to carry the offense. Gm Downs has some shuffling to do to spark the offense if he wants to get back into the wildcard race.

What's Hot:  Dallas Stars

2 weeks ago, the stars were mentionned in this segment for winning 4 straight games after a bad start to the season, Everyone knew they were a strong team and theyve continued to prove it by winning, winning and winning some more. They now have reached 10 wins in a row beating some strong teams in the process.  Everyone is playing great hockey on that team right now. Theyve allowed the least amount of goals in the entire league and the scariest thing is their mediocre scoring is driven by a low 8,90 shooting %.   If they can improve on that, they'll be a tough team to beat.

What's Not:   Rookie scoring race

By rules, there's nothing wrong with who the players leading the rookie scoring race are BUT it doesn't mean we should agree with it.  Here are the top 4 guys and their age.

Kaprizov 24 yo  23pts
Suter 25 yo   15pts
Lethonen 27 yo 10pts
Barabanov 27 yo 9pts

They are far from the true rookies coming into the league at 20-21 years of age. They arent old per say but some would agree that by 27, a lot of players are already halfway through their pro career.   Kaprizov is the hands down favorite with exceptional skills and playing for possibly the best team in the league in San Jose.  Do the nhl need to change the calder rules to give the trophy to a more deserving player? thats up to debate but at 24 years old, Kaprizov winning the calder is acceptable.

Thanks everyone for tuning in.
You stay classy, Dchl.
