Forwards:    A. Killorn, M. Domi, M. Granlund, B. Connolly, K. Labanc, N. Paul, M. Granlund

Defence:      J. Chychrun, B. Hutton, R. Gudas, O. Fantenberg

Goalie:          C. Anderson, O. Dansk

Off Season Team Needs:      # 1 line, 3C, 3W, 3 x top 4 D’s, Back up G

Free Agency:            To get a shot at competing with the big boys, the Caps needs an entire first line, 3 of its top 4 D and its backup Goalie.

The Caps GM has enough DCHL cash and cap space to fill some of these spots but not enough to fill all of them.

This might be a rebuilding year for Washington considering that the GM trade Bryan Rust someone the Capitals could have used on the first line for a mid-first round draft pick.

2020 / 2021 Season Outlook:    Unless the Caps GM adds a few players in free agency, Washington will probably be a lottery team again in 2021.

This team is just not deep or talented enough to make the playoffs in its current state.

Top Prospects / Under 25’s:      G. Pilon, CJ Smith, F. Perron, G. Fontaine, B. Jones, G. Fiore, J. Pelletier, G. Fortier, V. Firstov, A. Ruotsalainen, N. Ledare, T. Thompson, J. Chychrun, A. Yelesin, Y. Rykov, S. Day, D. Ferguson, A. Kniazev, M. Vukojevic

Future Outlook:     Good thing the Caps have 2 picks in the top 13 in this year’s draft because there is just not very much talent in the U25 / prospect pool in Washington.

As much as the Caps GM likes Chychrun and Pelletier, we’re not talking about superstars or all-stars, at best we’re talking about solid NHLers, which is good, but when there’s your best prospects that means that you have a lot of work to do to add prospects to your team.
