Arizona Coyotes Moving On

2019-04-20

In stunning fashion, the Arizona Coyotes have eliminated the San Jose Sharks from the playoffs in Game 5 in the best of seven series. Despite winning the regular season series, Arizona still entered the playoffs as a major underdog that very few believed would make it to the second round.

“Better check your bracket”, said Evander Kane with a smirk on his face.  Kane, who registered 4 goals in the first round, has been talked about as the team’s most valuable player in the regular season and there was no better stage for the veteran winger to shine on than in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against a team many consider to be one of the top teams in the league.

Goaltender Frederik Andersen, who through round one is sporting a 1.99 GAA and a 0.939 Sv%, turned aside 34 of 35 shots in game 5 to help the Coyotes move on to the second round.

“I found another level to my game in this series”, said Andersen. “Hopefully I can keep this rolling into the next round so we can make some real noise”.

Arizona patiently waits to play Calgary in the second round, who went 1-2-1 against a tough Flames team. The Coyotes will take the much-needed time off to help get back some players that have been on the IR.

Until then, in the words of Ariana Grande “thank u, next”.
