An off-season for the ages

2020-08-23

After yet another disappointing first round exit Bostons GM knew something needed to change.  The changes that happened though no one expected! in a 24 hour span the Bruins did the unexpected and traded fan favorites John Tavares and Connor Hellebuyck away for numerous pieces and players which included Anze Kopitar and Linus Ullmark.  The Bruins continued their team revamp by also bringing in Darcy Kuemper which gives Boston a pair in goal who will challenge for the Jennings trophy while costing the team less that $2 mill in cap space. The Bruins also stregthned their defense with the additions of T.J. Brodie and Keith Yandle.

The biggest move that Boston did though came once free agency started, they stregthened ther forwards long term by resigning Phil Kessel to a long term deal but they werent done there.  The Bruins signed Patrice Bergeron to a long term deal as well and made him the highest paid player in the DCHL.  That signing gives the Bruins the best one two punch that theyve had in franchise history!

With the transactions and signings that happened this offseason the Bruins truly believe that they've made the right moves to finally get past the first round and compete for the Cup!
